Court Agency

For Solicitors, sending a fee earner or other staff member to attend Counsel at a trial can cause great difficulty in the office.  Fee earners need to be available to undertake their fee earning work and the support staff are generally fully utilised within the office. Our Court Agency can help.

Your client, of course, wants someone at trial with whom they are familiar and who has a working knowledge of their case. Again, our Court Agency can help.

We can act as your agent and attend Counsel at trial on your behalf.  We have considerable experience in doing this and in providing the detailed note that Counsel will require.  We will also attend the pre-trial conference with Counsel in order to meet your client and become appraised of the case.

The agency charges a fixed daily rate for trial attendance and accepts instructions at Legal Aid rates.  Provided that the trial is fixed in the list the agency will charge a fixed fee of £50.00 (plus travel if conference further than 30 miles from our offices) to attend the conference and to read the case file.

We can also attend Counsel on your behalf at any hearing – Civil or Criminal in Bodmin, Truro or Exeter courts.  Fixed fee to be agreed.
